Kogatende
Kogatende sits in the northern Serengeti, close to the Mara River and the Tanzanian border with Kenya.
The area becomes particularly important during the Great Migration when wildebeest and other migrating animals move through the northern Serengeti. During the right months, the Mara River crossings can create some of the most dramatic wildlife scenes in Tanzania.
But Kogatende is not only about the migration. The northern Serengeti is a strong wildlife destination in its own right, with resident wildlife and a landscape of open plains, rocky outcrops and riverine areas.
Its remote location also gives it a different feeling from the busier central Serengeti. For travellers specifically interested in the migration, Kogatende can be one of the most compelling places to build a safari around.
Safari Convoy’s existing itinerary inventory includes a 7-day migration safari flying to Kogatende, followed by full-day game drives around the Mara River before continuing through central Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire. Itineraries from safari bookings
