Lake Natron
Lake Natron is one of the more unusual additions to a northern Tanzania itinerary.
The landscape is dominated by the lake, surrounding Rift Valley terrain and the distinctive volcanic cone of Ol Doinyo Lengai. The stark environment creates a strong contrast to the green forests and open savannah found elsewhere in northern Tanzania.
Flamingos are one of the area’s defining attractions, while the region also works well for travellers interested in hiking, volcanic landscapes and experiences beyond conventional game drives.
Safari Convoy’s existing itinerary material already uses Lake Natron as part of northern routes, including journeys connecting Natron with Kogatende in the northern Serengeti.
